Hi! I'm Emma.
I live in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell in Oxfordshire with my husband Sam and our two boys.

About my studio and classes
I run Silver Wood Yoga Studio from my little home studio. My classes offer a homely environment and class sizes are small so you will always receive personal feedback and support.
If you're looking for a philosophy-heavy class with asana names in Sanskrit, I'm probably not the right teacher for you. My classes are accessible, fun and focus on functional mobility to help your body and mind feel great. You don't have to be experienced to join my classes and don't worry if you can't touch your toes!
My yoga journey
Yoga became my passion when I had to give up rowing due to a health condition called hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). It's a chronic condition with many symptoms, including easy joint dislocation and joint pain. Even as an amateur rower I was training pretty hard and after a few years I found my body just couldn't handle it. I turned to yoga to build my strength in a more gentle way and I have never looked back.
Since becoming a mum I've realised the importance of classes that bring women in similar stages of life together and believe yoga is the perfect activity. I suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum with both of my boys, so understand that pregnancy can be incredibly tough. I also had a pretty rocky recovery after my second, including a pelvic prolapse. Yoga & mindfulness helped me stay positive through both pregnancies and helped me recover and regain strength after having my boys.
Yoga has been great for my body but I've found lots of unexpected benefits off the mat too. It's improved my mental health and has made me a calmer and more positive person.
